Are you drinking enough water?

Water is important. We all know that. However, most Americans are dehydrated on a day-to-day basis and don't even know it. Many do not think about hydration until it is usually too late.

But, water plays a crucial role in our health AND results in the fitness world.

You should set a goal to drink a minimum of half your body weight in ounces of water a day. Water needs to become an essential part of your life!

Now, drinking half your body weight in ounces of water may sound like a lot of water to drink if you are not currently doing so, but keep in mind though that you’ll want to space your water intake over the ENTIRE day.

Below are some tips you can do to help increase water intake:

  1. Set alarms on your phone or in your calendar to remind yourself to drink water spread out through your day.

  2. Drink a full glass of water 15/20 mins before your next meal or any time you feel the urge to snack between meals.

  3. We often mistake thirst for hunger. So, when you are mindlessly snacking and never feeling satisfied, chances are your body is trying to tell you that it needs water, not food. So fill up your glass and drink away!

  4. Purchase a gallon water bottle and try to finish it before your day is over.

  5. Get friends to join in this water challenge with you! It is always fun to have a group!

Remember, the goal is to be hydrated! Once you are, you'll start seeing results and benefits in no time.

Fitness is a journey towards a healthy lifestyle. Enjoy the process!
