Five ways to improve fat loss and boost your metabolism

Ideally speaking, the idea behind weight loss is simple: burn more calories than you consume. But for many people losing weight is a difficult task.

Losing weight does not take some crazy, super restrictive complex plan, or a quick-fix diet.

It is simple, not easy. All it takes is a good nutrition plan that fuels your body while being in a caloric deficit.

Some other important factors for losing weight are:

  • You should move your body at a minimum of 30 mins every day

  • Drink half of your body weight in ounces of water a day

  • Sleep 6-8 hours a night

And, do all of these items consistently. Losing weight is about doing the small things consistently!

There are no “secrets” to fat loss or boosting your metabolism. It comes down to the following five strategies:

1. Drink HALF your body weight in ounces of water daily. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, you should be drinking 75 ounces of water each day.

2. Incorporate High-intensity Training to build muscle. The best way to accomplish this? Join us at Temple Challenge, of course!

3. Eat plenty of protein

4. Walk daily

5. Sleep 6-8 hours a night

Try to do these five things on a consistent basis and you will be amazed at how amazing you may feel! Be patient and listen to your body. Do not forget that recovery IS part of the process.

Age is a factor in metabolism and so is stress. Some things are out of your control but these five strategies above can be controlled.

Sometimes all you need is the right coaching and accountability to make sure that you are doing what you need for your body to thrive. Do not overthink it, and do not feel like you must lose all the weight overnight.

Fitness is a journey towards a healthy lifestyle. Enjoy the process! Here at Temple Challenge - we would love to help you if you ever have any questions! Find an in-person workout class if you’re in one of our service areas or check out our online workout videos you can do from anywhere!
