Halloween candy alternatives that won't wreck your diet
Who is ready for Halloween and all the love it brings? Can the candy "alternatives" live up to the hype? Does fruit taste like skittles? Twix may always have your mouth watering but can we say that about kale chips?
People's diets take a hit during the Halloween season. With all the candy options people just keep eating until the bowl is empty. I mean, throughout the year people are bragging about how much better the pumpkin Reese’s are than the regular. You know they are going all in the candy jar!
It’s okay to allow yourself to eat some candy and use it as a cheat meal. A problem could arise when all that leftover candy is available during the first week of November. That could be a dangerous shopping trip.
These recipes probably won’t be as good as candy, but they may help with your current sweet tooth!
Homemade popsicles
Blend some fresh fruit with water, milk, or juice and put them into the popsicle mold with a stick. Try it with yogurt if you want a creamier texture. Put them in the freezer and you’ll have them in no time!
Dark chocolate-covered strawberries
Dark chocolate and berries are both loaded with antioxidants. All you have to do is melt some semi-sweet dark chocolate, dip the strawberries into it, and put them in the freezer to cool.
Protein Shake
I personally like the ones that are already made ( Premier Protein Shake -- I buy a box of them at SAMS CLUB).
Fresh fruit
There are all sorts of fruits out there. Grab a couple of them and bring them home. Mix them together or even eat them separately. If you get really crazy, dip them into peanut butter!
YEAH BABY!
