5 Habits that will improve your workout and help you see better results
If you want to burn fat or build muscle, working out is a crucial part, but the movement is only one piece of the puzzle. Going to the gym or doing a virtual workout is one thing but what you do during the other 23 hours a day?
So, if you are looking to improve your workouts, reach your goals, cut back on injury, and set yourself up to dominate your work out — Here are FIVE habits that you can add to your fitness routine if you want to maximize your results.
Get Quality Sleep
The Z’s do really matter! Being well-rested helps with the performance during your workouts as well as proper hormone production to ensure a good recovery. When you don’t sleep well you might also have bad eating habits. 7-9 hours a night is ideal!
Stay Hydrated
As a standard rule, you want to aim for, at minimum, half your body weight in ounces of water a day as a good baseline. This is an awesome baseline! Being well hydrated will help with proper muscle function, mental clarity, fight off fatigue, and prevent muscle cramps! DRINK YOUR WATER PEOPLE!
Fuel Properly ( when you should eat before a workout)
Working out on fumes? Don’t expect a great workout. Try eating about 1 to 3 hours before your workout. This meal should have a protein source and some complex carbohydrates.
Have the proper mindset
Have the mentality that every workout will not be your best
Every person thinks they are going to come out and have the best workout every day. That each day will be a personal best. Remember that some workouts you will feel mentally and physically better and that is okay!
Have a warm-up routine
Taking the time to properly warm-up before a workout to raise your body temperature, increase blood flow, and sweat will lead to better work out. BE READY!
